East Sussex, UK To the beautiful girl I didn’t quite have the chance to meet in Barbados. We stayed at the same hotel with our families for a couple of nights, but you left before me. I first noticed you on the beach — you had your sandy blond hair plaited, and you kept walking past me, trying to catch my eye, I think. Trust me, I was just as interested in you as you were in me, but I didn’t know how to respond! And then that evening, after you had taken the plaits out of your hair, and you were lovely in a different way, you were the only one brave enough to dance to the band at dinner (which you’re very good at, by the way!). You stood up and took a chance, and I smiled when I realised you were the same girl from the beach. Do you know how funny and cool that was? I hope you didn’t regret it, because everyone in the hotel was impressed! Anyway, I think you’re beautiful, full of life, and you were the one who put yourself out there, and I regret not being as courageous as you. Unfortunately, I didn’t know that was your last day at the hotel, and I was really sad when I realised I wouldn’t get to see you again! I thought we’d have more time, and I’m also really shy! It’s a long shot, I’m sure, and I never do things like this, but it’s exciting to think you might see this and we might get to finally talk to each other properly, although I wish we'd done this when we were somewhere beautiful on holiday together!
